CONCERT | 12th Planet – 5/9/12 | Majestic Theater – Madison, WI

Prime Social Group and Madtown Dubstep paired up to bring the dirty, dirty dubstep artist known as 12th Planet to the Majestic Theater in Madison, WI on Wednesday, May 9th. His tracks dub hard and they dub dark. 12th Planet seems to add pinch of nightmare to his songs. He uses tones that evoke darkly ominous feelings–but not necessarily in a frightening manner. It’s almost like one’s dark side slowly lurks out and gains power. And it’s kind of fun. Check out his Soundcloud and hope we see you at the show!

VIDEO | Timeflies (Tuesday) – “B1G Ten” / “Switchblade”

The first time I’ve gotten a Timeflies post out on a Tuesday, and it’s a DOOZY! Cal shows some love to FoxSports and the winners of the B1G championship game (MY WISCONSIN BADGERS, BABY!!!!) where their song “Switchblade” was featured at the conclusion of what was an epic game.

In addition, they’ve also released the official video to “Switchblade” from their well-received premiere album The Scotch Tape, shot in the streets of Manhattan.

We’re Smelling Roses!

The success of Teach Me How To Bucky by Zooniversity has got everyone trying to make a catchy rap song about the Wisconsin Badgers. “We’re Smelling Roses” is the most recent of those songs (others being “Red & White”, an “On Wisconsin Remix” done last year, the “What’s A Sconnie?” parody and my favorite: “Gatorade Shower”).
This song seems to be trying a little too hard to throw in football references and names. As a Badger I obviously love the thought, but think it was a half-hearted attempt. The video is still funny and was done by the same director who did TMHTB. J Dante is the saving grace for the song and if you don’t know about him you should check out his music (I recommend SuperHyperMegaCool) and I’ll do a feature on him later most likely.

At the end of the day…GO BADGERS! YOU KNOW WATTS COMING! T.C.WHO? WE MESSED WITH TEXAS! GOING going, BACK back, to CALI cali!

You may remember the What’s A Sconnie? parody song i posted of these Badger Boys’ first hit ‘The Coastie Song.’ Well they are back at it reppin’ Wisconsin and showing everyone why UW>Any other school! The video also features a couple cameos/dance moves from  our seasoned band director, Michael Leckrone, Piccolo Pete, and Chancellor BIDDY MARTIN (for those who don’t know). Proud to be a Badger!
