ELECTRO-HOUSE | Clinton Sparks f/ Mike Posner – “IDKurName”

Clinton Sparks and Mike Posner present a new club hit “IDKurName,” after their success (along with Big Sean) with the collaboration “Ambiguous.” Posner has such a unique voice that fits really well with Sparks’ electro beats, and we were really excited to see what this one had in store. “IDKurName” isn’t really anything different than you’d expect from a normal Sparks’ track–pleasantly rolling upbeat tempo, not too intense, not too sluggish, but we kind of wish Posner’s vocals had a more expanded role in the collaboration. Nonetheless, we’re glad Clinton keeps sending us his tracks and can’t wait to see what else he’s dropping before his album debut!

CLUB | Clinton Sparks f/ Pitbull & The Disco Fries – “Watch You”

Clinton Sparks finally dropped his long-awaited, highly anticipated single “Watch You” featuring Pitbull & The Disco Fries last week. This electro-pop track features lyrical content from mainly Sparks, with a very familiar-sounding verse from Mr. 305 himself. “Watch You” was produced by Sparks and NYC electro/house duo The Disco Fries (comprised of Nick and Danny)–who also just recently launched with Tommie Sunshine as Pacha New York’s new brand. Basically “Watch You” has all of the ingredients of a Top 40 chart hit, and we expect to start hearing pieces of it in remixes all over.

Sparks is popping up everywhere lately. We just saw him appear as a producer on Sammy Adam’s new mixtape OK CoolAs a musician, he’s been releasing 90s club remixes all summer. And don’t forget, Sparks was nominated for a Grammy (Album of the Year, no big deal) this past year for his producer work on Lady Gaga’s album Born This Way. Professionally, it looks like Clinton is trying to grow his career as an artist the most–and it’s not as if he just started making music–he does have a permanent DJ residency at the Palms Casino Resort in Vegas. No, Sparks appears to be focusing more on his own music to seemingly capture the success he’s received as a producer and carry it over to his career as an artist. Oh and we almost forgot to mention, Sparks has an album release coming soon titled “Disco Ball & Chain.” Can’t wait to see the collaborations on it and you can be sure to find it here on Raw Tracks when it drops. We’re rooting for you Clinton and keep up the great work!

Boston rapper Sammy Adams turned 25 yesterday and to celebrate his birthday he decided to give a gift to all of his loyal fans with the release of his pre-album mixtape, OK COOL!. Produced by Clinton Sparks & JayCeeOh, this mixtape is packed with 15 tracks and brings some serious heat, especially with the remixes of some of the biggest/newest electronic songs out there (including Madeon’s “Finale“)

Sammy finally hit the mainstream and radio a few months ago with his single “Only One” and will be releasing his new single “All Night Longer” next Tuesday. We’re glad to see he’s doing it big and can’t wait for his first studio album.

REMIX | David Guetta f/ Big Sean & Tyrese – “B!tch I Do It (Clinton Sparks Remix)”

This is our second Clinton Sparks post today, catching up for lost time. In case you’re not too familiar with Clinton Sparks, here’s a few things you should know. Sparks is a Grammy-nominated producer for his work on Lady Gaga’s Born This Way album. He’s a multi-platinum producer/songwriter for other artists such as “Akon, Pitbull, Ludacris, Rick Ross, Tyrese, T-Pain, The Game and The Notorious B.I.G” (from Sparks’ SoundCloud). Sparks is also E! Entertainment’s music correspondent and a DJ/host on his #1 rated radio show SmashTime Radio. Not to mention his career as an artist. How could you not know about him? Here’s his latest release, “B!tch I Do It”:

“B!tch I Do It” is what you’d expect in a Clinton Sparks track. Its pop vocals and bright melody from “Bulletproof” paired with an upbeat tempo make for an uplifting and fun club song. Tyrese’s verse (from “Fireworkz”) sets it off nicely, but really “B!tch I Do It” seems more of a filler track to keep Sparks on our radars. His upcoming release “Watch You” featuring Pitbull is dropping in two weeks, and is looking like it should be a big hit–especially coming from this powerhouse club duo. Stay tuned for the release!
