Miles – ‘Expose’ (Album)| Punk Rock

Miles’ music is all about forward motion. This winningly restless trio is led by guitarist/vocalist Marc Plotkin, and also includes Ben Jacobs at the bass, and Jon Smith on drums. And while their current sound is best described as melodic alternative music, the bands’ very name stands as an obvious and undeniable reminder of a treasured jazz past. However, there is more meaning to this moniker than just its obvious connection with an iconic trumpeter.

The White Rhino is Julian Rhine, a high-octane rapper, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist born and raised in Brooklyn. Rhino’s music begins in hip-hop and takes you to a new, emerging genre—an undefined space occupied by stars such as Kid Cudi, B.o.B, and Kanye West. One important distinction: Rhino wrote and performed nearly the entirety of the infectious sounds and impeccable arrangements on his eponymous debut album.
