The duo known as gLAdiator from Los Angeles (probably could have guessed by the name) dropped this phenomenal “refix” of Katy Perry’s “Wide Awake”. If you’ve listened to any gLAdiator tracks, you may be thinking that this track is going to follow their typical intense, banging dubstep or Moombahton styles–but surprise, doesn’t happen. But don’t fret, gLAdiator does not disappoint. They really preserve Perry’s original and just enhance the percussion to make it crisper and the bass to make it deeper. Apparently that’s why they called it “refix” as opposed to “remix”. Rip this to your summer playlist, turn the bass up, and cruise in the car with the windows down. Wonderful track.
