In an ever accelerating EDM landscape that seems to contain so many artists who focus on quantity over quality, it is deeply refreshing to see examples like the youngster Michael Calfan. After being slingshotted into superstardom with the release of his incredible banger Resurrection on Axtone records, the young Frenchman has remained quiet, only pausing to release an astounding remix of Guetta’s clubland classic Turn Me On, before returning to original form with this impressive outlet for Stealth Records. Muzaik is an impressive combination of evocative and emotional progressive house with some Alesso-esque synths marrying with Calfan’s incredible close attention in production to make a genuine banger.
