The we first time we listened to Clinton Sparks’ “IDKurName” featuring Mike Posner was back in September and we weren’t exactly overly enamored with it. However that was prior to seeing this music video.

This is one of those situations where a track releases and it’s okay, but then later on when the video comes out the song suddenly is awesome. You know, one of those “Ah ha!” moments. Well we just had one of those. How we were presented the video also helped enlighten us (as well as entertain). Here’s the email from Clinton’s manager (you may also relate, hopefully not to everything):

Have you ever consumed a multitude of foreign substances that ultimately led to poor decision making and general regret the next day? Sure you have. Have you ever shamelessly thrown up in the bathroom urinal while someone is relieving themselves, thus breaking numerous man laws? Don’t be ashamed.

Have you ever been fellated while at a club only to be interrupted by your friend during the act? Yeah, that’s what I figured you savage you. Most importantly, have you ever taken home a striking ladyfriend, only to discover that it’s actually a man with Pantene Pro-V strength locks upon rolling over? Oh, you haven’t? Neither has Clinton Sparks, even though his new “IDKurName” video, off “My Awesome Mixtape 3,” featuring Mike Posner, might prove otherwise.

ELECTRO-HOUSE | Clinton Sparks f/ Mike Posner – “IDKurName”

Clinton Sparks and Mike Posner present a new club hit “IDKurName,” after their success (along with Big Sean) with the collaboration “Ambiguous.” Posner has such a unique voice that fits really well with Sparks’ electro beats, and we were really excited to see what this one had in store. “IDKurName” isn’t really anything different than you’d expect from a normal Sparks’ track–pleasantly rolling upbeat tempo, not too intense, not too sluggish, but we kind of wish Posner’s vocals had a more expanded role in the collaboration. Nonetheless, we’re glad Clinton keeps sending us his tracks and can’t wait to see what else he’s dropping before his album debut!

HOUSE | Avicii f/ Mike Posner – “Stay With You” / “The Tracks Of My Tears [Preview]“

Lately when DJ’s have crossed over into the American music scene, they’ve brought on singers to lay down the vocals for their tracks but it turns out that the singer overtakes the song and it becomes more about them than the DJ (ex. Calvin Harris, Afrojack, David Guetta, etc.). Well Avicii didn’t let that happen with his latest track with  Mike Posner. Keeping his unique progressive house sound and mixing in Posner’s vocals as basically an afterthought, he keeps this a banger that everyone will enjoy but won’t be overplayed.

Below is a live rip of what looks to be another huge Avicii track featuring vocals from 14 Karat Soul. Give it a listen and check back later for the full release.
